The Ax versions (A1, A2, etc.) succeed versions 15 of Gestan, in particular for the implementation of Factur-X, the new system for monitoring economic activity imposed by the state.
These new versions also bring numerous developments, both in terms of functionalities, including regulatory functionalities such as for example the management of deposit invoices according to French regulations (the old operation remains possible), and in terms of ergonomics.
If you wish, technical support can carry out this 13→A1 migration for you (see our offer migration assistance).
If you were still in version 13 (end of operation in 2018): migration is only possible with migration assistance intervention from technical support
Not all extensions have yet been migrated to Ax version. Also, check before starting the migration that all the extensions you use are migrated. You will find the list on this page.
Likewise, if you use a specific program developed internally or by a Gestan developer partner, make sure beforehand that it is available in Ax version.
Start by checking that you are in the latest version of Gestan 15.
To do this: Menu “?” → Check for an update. Update Gestan, if necessary.
Make sure you are in version 15.46.12 for each database, and check the file indexes.
To do this, with your Gestan version 15.46.12, connect to each of the bases you use.
Then via Tools→Administration→Maintenance→HFSQL file indexes, launch the index check, reindex if all the indexes are not correct.
Make a complete backup of your Gestan data. In IT, you can never be too careful.
The list of directories of all your bases is displayed on the connections screen.
(Access: Tools → Administration → Multi-company management)
Each of these directories must contain 4 subdirectories:
The data is located in the DATABASE directory: make a copy of this directory.
Indeed, support often notices that Gestan directories contain files or directories that should not be there!
The location of the data is indicated in the HFSQL server configuration screen.
Make a complete copy of this directory.
If you had left the default location, then this location is: COMMONAPPDATA\PC SOFT\HFSQL Server [server name]\BDD, that is to say, for example C:\ProgramData\PC SOFT\HFSQL Server srv1\BDD for a machine whose Windows name would be srv1.
Like all 64-bit programs, Gestan must be installed in `C:\Program Files` (and not in `C:\Program Files (x86)`, which was the location for Gestan 15—a 32-bit application).
Also, select “Custom installation” in the installer so you can choose the correct directory (this allows you to keep two versions of Gestan on your computer: version 15 and version A1).
Select the `C:\Program Files` directory to install Gestan.
Once the installation is complete, the startup wizard will launch.
On the screen below, choose the option to open an existing database.
Then, specify the details of the version 15 database you wish to open. The example below shows a local database. The `ANYWAY` directory contains a `DATABASE` sub-directory holding the Gestan 15 data.
On the next screen, click Connect.
The message below will appear. Click Yes.
A second message (shown below) will then appear. Click Yes again.
The structure modification screen shown below will then open.
Start the structure modification process by checking the box Yes, I have backed up this database, then clicking the Validate button.
This process should take about one or two minutes.
Once finished, Gestan displays an execution summary message—the one shown below if everything went smoothly.
Upon startup, a screen will prompt you to select a company logo; this logo will be displayed on the login window, among other places. A logo with a roughly square shape will look best.
Then, the standard version update screen will open and manage the data modifications.
Start the process using the Next button; once this operation is complete, you will have successfully finished the migration!
If all your Gestan Enterprise V15 licenses expire in less than a month, purchase a new Gestan A1 license for the desired number of connections.
Otherwise, the remaining validity of your Gestan Enterprise licenses can be transferred to your A1 version free of charge!
To do this:
And there you have it!
Your Gestan 15 licenses will be replaced by a single license.
First, we will calculate the remaining duration (in days) of your existing licenses.
For example, if you have a V15 license expiring in 60 days, another in 90 days, and a third in 120 days, your total remaining days will be 60 + 90 + 120, or 270 days.
We will then issue a license for 3 simultaneous connections (regardless of the computer you use to connect); its expiration date will be determined by dividing the total remaining days by the number of connections—in this example, 270 ÷ 3, resulting in a 90-day license.
