Wild buttons allow you to add a button to the main menu of Gestan that executes a configurable action.

You can use wildcard buttons:

• to launch a specific program: open the calculator, your spreadsheet, or any other program
• to open a Gestan screen: if Gestan offers many screen opening buttons, you can open any Gestan screen which you use a lot and for which the “standard” button is not offered
• to open any screen of a specific extension: if you use Gestan extensions, this will insert a submenu in the Gestan “Job” menu, but the wildcard buttons can be used to open any screen of these extensions .

To do this :

Via the User Options > Buttons, menus and widgets menu, start by adding a wildcard button.

In the example below, wildcard button #1 has been activated.

Then, via the “Perso-menu” tab, enter the characteristics of the wildcard button: indicate a label and an icon for the button, and indicate the name of the screen that the button should activate.

For example, below, we activate with the “DEV” button, the main screen of GESTAN_DEV, the development management extension.
