Gestan extensions

Gestan extensions enable you to add a number of specific functionalities to Gestan, in a fully integrated manner.

They can be developed by ICS-Informatique, Gestan's editor, or by any partner with a “development” qualification. In the latter case, the source codes for these developments are deposited with ICS-Informatique, which guarantees their continuity and legality.

Access : Tools → Administration → Extensions

The screen displays the list of available extensions, by category.

The Info button opens the wiki page corresponding to the extension.

The Install button installs the extension, the Uninstall button uninstalls it. Technically, installation downloads the .wdl file corresponding to the extension, and installs it in the user's Appdata directory (C:\Users\[windows user]\AppData\Roaming\GESTAN15\).

To update an extension, uninstall it using the Uninstall button, then reinstall it.

On the library list screen, the Act/Dsct button enables you to activate, or not, the library for the current Gestan database, for each user. You can also double-click on the column.

Port 3306 must be available for Gestan to query the MySQL database containing the list of available extensions.

Installing an extension causes :

• a sub-menu may be added to the Business menu in Gestan's main menu;
• a sub-menu may be added to one of Gestan's existing menus;
• the possible addition of a settings menu in the Tools → Application settings→Extensions settings menu.
