Bank account statements

FIXME A1 proofreading not yet effective for this page. In the meantime, you can ask any questions on the forum.

These are account statements presented by the banks with which you opened a current account, characterized by start and end dates, and a start and end balance.

// Access: ** Accounting → bank account statements // or //Statements** button in the list of entries//

The creation of an account statement is carried out from the entries screen (use in pointing mode).

The balance pointed out is the sum of all receipts/disbursements pointed out (or reconciled) over the period of the account statement.

The pointed difference is the difference between the balance of the account statement recorded by the bank, and the pointed balance. If this amount is not zero, there is an error in the tally indicator for your entries, and Gestan displays it in red.

The accounted balance is the sum of all receipts/disbursements recorded over the period of the account statement.

The accounted difference is the difference between the ending balance and the calculated balance. If this amount is not zero, there is an error in entering your entries, and Gestan displays it in red.

Example of bank account statement entry

Let's say you start your business in February: you received payment on your account for an invoice of 120, and purchased supplies worth 24.

At the end of the month, your bank produces a statement of your bank account for the past period.

To record this first statement, open the list of entries, and click on the Score button.

You will then be able to record the end date of your account statement, and the ending balance.

The end date is indicated on your bank statement. The ending balance, if we had a previous balance of 0, is now 120-24, or 96.

When you have pointed to these two writings, the 1 pictogram will turn solid green.

The following month, you receive 132 payments, and you make 60 expenses.

Returning to tally mode, Gestan will ask you to save your second account statement.

Once the pointing of your entries is finished, the Statements button in the list of entries opens the list of bank account statements.

In this case, everything is correct: the deviation pointed out and the deviation counted are zero.

In this screen, when the screen arrives, the balances are automatically recalculated for the last bank account statement.

The Calculation button allows you to recalculate the values for the selected account statement, while the Calculate all button allows you to recalculate all the account statements for the selected account.
